Absolutely thrilled with our story in last Friday’s edition of the Sun. Keeley is a very special girl indeed – knowing some children are poorly and don’t have hair, she decided to grow hers extra long so she could have a ceremonial, fund raising hair cut – and in so doing, not only donated her hair to charity but raised over £2000 too! We’re big fans of Keeley here at Phoenix… and we are delighted to hear that Lindy will be buying Keeley a much sought after trampoline with the proceeds of her Sun story. Here’s my good friend Ellie staring on the front cover of glossy monthly women’s magazine Essentials. So proud! Ellie’s story was simple – she’d cut off her long brunette locks and gone for a cropped peroxide look. And doesn’t she look beautiful for it? Essentials are always looking for real women (not models) to star on their cover so if you would like a hair stylist, make up artist and clothing guru to pamper you for a photoshoot, please let me know!

I’ve been working with the lovely Natasja on her incredibly unusual story. Natasja didn’t have the easiest start in life – her mother died when she was a baby, her father was in prison. After a few years in foster care she was adopted, age four. A longing to know her roots never left Natasja, who spent every waking moment wondering who her real family were. She searched high and low for her long lost brother, eventually finding him serving a life sentence for murdering a drug dealer in America.   Natasja didn’t flinch – Laurence was her brother and she still loved him. My photographer, Gareth, and I spent Saturday at a Wacky Warehouse celebrating Christmas… despite it being closer to Halloween! The magazines tend to work a few months ahead of schedule so when That’s Life magazine gave our client Susan a Christmas Life Line, we had to pretend Christmas had come early. Susan’s son, William, was born with Down’s Syndrome and in the early days, Susan felt like she was the only mum in the world with a child with special needs. Every year, the shops start their onslaught of Christmas jingles, baubles and brussel sprouts earlier and earlier, don’t they? We’ve no sooner recovered from Halloween and the sleigh bells start ringing. Well, at the magazines, Christmas starts even earlier. In fact, by the time it actually is Christmas, the magazines are commissioning stories about Valentine’s Day. By Valentine’s Day, we’re looking for summer holidays. It can all get very confusing. Today I had some very exciting news – I am going to be starring in Essentials magazine. The glossy monthly magazine asked me to write a story about my relationship with my sister, who has special needs, and I am always keen to champion how amazing she is, so I gladly accepted. I hope it will raise awareness about microcephaly and illustrate that people with special needs are very special people indeed. Plus, on Friday, I get to be pampered at a photoshoot in London.
